6 sweaters, 10 undershirts, 12 pairs of underwear, 10 pairs of socks, 3 jeans, 1 chinos, 2 pairs of shoes and 3 belts.  I know I am missing something.

Making final preparations for a week-long trip is hard enough. But going away for 30 days is a little nerve wracking. I also have to get Pilot’s stuff packed up — food, bedding, leashes, poop bags — and plenty of treats.

The “Why?!” DVDs came back from the duplicator last week. For some reason, I thought 250 packaged DVDs would fit into a small box.  Obviously, I am delusional — and was quickly proven so when UPS delivered 3 huge boxes.  I know I will sell most (if not all) of the merch — this weekend in a single seminar, I unloaded 8 to a class of 13.  Not bad at $15 a pop.  BTW: if you want to buy your own copy, visit my web site.

So, goals for the trip:

  • Relax
  • Educate students and filmmakers about festivals, marketing, and the reality of industry.
  • Become a more disciplined writer
  • Crank out at least 1 script and 1 outline
  • Read a book (or 2) about urban farming

Tomorrow, we leave for a smalls school outside of Pittsburgh. Stop #1, here we come!
